Thermodynamics of Biological Systems: a textbook
Original title (Russian):
Abstract
The thermodynamics of biological systems is a branch of thermodynamics that describes the functioning of biological systems of the active type, i.e. systems that convert the energy of food and other energy sources through a continuous alternation of cycles of biochemical reactions, the principal one being the synthesis and breakdown of ATP. This principle of functioning gives living organisms the property of phenotypic adaptation, along with a number of other properties.
